ABOUT
Polarity Lab is an institute for the human condition. We capture the human narrative and build technology that reflects it back.
// what we do
You narrate stories about yourself all day. The world narrates stories about you too. The stories you repeat become the biases you stop questioning. We capture that full picture and reflect it back through AI and through community, so you can see what you have been reinforcing without knowing it.
Cosmos is the platform. Blueno, Polarity GPS, WaxFeed, and AVDP are applications and field work in clinical care, community, audio, and video. All of it feeds one graph. For Cosmos specifically: team, funding, competitors, research, and roles, see the Cosmos page.

// how we are different
Institute vs app
Optimize a metric inside one product category.
Study the human condition and build surfaces that reflect narrative back across modalities.
Narrative vs storage
Store what you know and retrieve it later.
Track where your life is going against where you meant it to go, with receipts.
Portable graph
Memory siloed inside one vendor's assistant.
One graph at your account, portable across agents and applications.
Reflection vs engagement
Train on clicks and reinforce what you already did.
Surface what engagement models suppress: the story you repeat and the biases inside it.
// how the work is supported
Grant funding from 1517 Fund. Polarity Lab is affiliated with Sociotechnical Systems and Wellbeing Lab (SWRL) at Brown University CS, where research spans AI sycophancy, sociotechnical systems, and human wellbeing. The work is also supported by the people who use and contribute to it today.
Cosmos is free to start and stays free at the core. Over time, paid surfaces will sit where the value is unmistakable: deeper infrastructure, professional and clinical tools like Blueno, and team use. We do not run ads and we do not sell individual user data.
The aim is a sustainable institute built around tools people choose because they help them see their own story more clearly.
// how we scale
More people on the graph. More modalities feeding it: text through Cosmos, audio through WaxFeed, video through AVDP, community through Polarity GPS. More applications built on the same alignment layer. Research that asks whether models trained on original, consented corpus data reflect people more accurately than engagement-history models do.
// this year
- ·Grow Cosmos in open beta: more connectors, sharper alignment readouts, more people living on the graph.
- ·Pilot Blueno with partner therapists.
- ·Ship Polarity GPS as a public community surface.
- ·Continue WaxFeed live sessions and AVDP field work in audio and video.
- ·Publish the institute thesis in public and bring more contributors into the work.
// get involved
Use Cosmos. Pilot Blueno as a therapist or client. Come on camera for AVDP or into session for WaxFeed. Build with us. Fund a specific surface or partnership.
